Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I’m working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I’m my little brother’s temporary mother since our mom doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I’m that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least. But now I’m the Temporary. But now I’m the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He’s beautiful, sweet—and he’s hiding way more secrets than I am. He’s brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is… Me. I don’t know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him. Forever.

Maybe we're supposed to help each other cope. Or give each other hope. Drew Callahan and Fable Maguire come from two different worlds and yet they seem to have so much in common. Drew is the popular college football player and Fable is a waitress at the local bar in town that all the college kids hang out as. She's got quite the reputation around campus, and she doesn't even attend the school. Fable's home life is less than perfect. She works two jobs to support her and her younger brother, while her mother goes out and drinks and sleeps around with different men. Fable turns to guys for affection. Always searching for that closeness to make her feel the love she clearly never received at home. Her reputation is also exaggerated just a tad!! Drew's family life is beyond heartbreaking and dysfunctional. He goes through life trying to avoid the guilt and shame of his past. Football and school are his escape. Now Drew is faced with a dilemma. He's being forced to go home for Thanksgiving week and he decides to approach Fable, who he has never spoken to, and asks if she will come home with him and pretend to be his girlfriend for the week. He offers her $3000 for her time. At first things are awkward since they hardly know each other but as they spend time together, feelings are clearly starting to develop between them. I have to say this story was very predictable to me. I knew right away what was haunting Drew and that huge reveal at the end?? I saw that coming a mile away. Although I think that someone is telling a huge lie!! BUT, even though it was predictable, I really did enjoy this story so much! I loved how at times some of the writing was very poetic. I also found myself falling for Drew. These two have some scorching hot chemistry and I am so happy that I decided to read this when all the books have already been released because that cliffy at the end has me dying to get to book two as soon as I can!!

"We'll settle back into our usual roles. where you hate me and I hate you. It'll be a lie. I might've hated you before all this, but now... I think I'm falling in love with you." Drew -- Fable -- Drew Callahan is going home for Thanksgiving and he needs a fake girlfriend for a week to bring to his parents' house. That way, he can show them that he is in fact capable of keeping a girl for a longer amount of time, and he hopes this way his father and stepmother won't bother him too much while he's at home. But that's not the only reason why he's so dreadful of going back to the place where he grew up. "I need a buffer to get me through what could end up being one of the worst weeks of my life. Thank God for Fable. She has no clue how much she's helping me. She can never know either." ~ Drew Fable Maguire has always been everybody's second choice. No one really seems to care about her. She's from the "poorer" side of town so she has to work extra hours to keep up with paying rent and taking care of her little brother, since their mother's almost never home. So, when Drew Callahan, the university's golden boy and star quarterback offers her 3000 dollars to be his fake girlfriend for a week, Fable decides that even though it makes her feel cheap and used, that amount of much needed money, makes Drew's offer one she can't refuse. "There is no room for romance in my life. It's so stupid, but I let guys use me because for one fleeting moment, when he's focusing all of his attention on me and no one else, it feels good. It helps me forget that no one really cares." ~ Fable. What neither of them expects though, is that although their relationship is based on "appearances", slowly but surely they begin to rely on each other more and more. They realize that they're not so different from each other, that they're both broken deep down inside and that maybe their "temporary" relationship can become something much more permanent. "This man came into my life for some reason. Just as I came into his. Maybe we're supposed to help each other cope. Or give each other hope." ~ Fable But their time together isn't filled with moments of bliss alone... dark secrets from Drew's past threaten to ruin their already fragile relationship. Then there's the fact that neither of them is fully sure of the other one's feelings, they're both unsure whether the other one's feelings are real are just part of the act, part of the "fake" relationship they've gotten their selves into. "Everything between us isn't real and I have to remember that. No matter how good it feels." And then there's the STEPMOTHER FROM HELL : Adele... Seriously, about halfway through the story she was already getting on my nerves and I just wanted her to leave them alone! And just when things couldn't get any worse, she had to OFF COURSE make me HATE her even more with this line : (view spoiler)["Vanessa's not your sister, Andrew." Adele pauses, the smile she shoots my direction devastating. "She was your daughter." (hide spoiler)] That was just BEYOND messed up!!!!! And then, the ending. Don't expect it to be a happy one... Drew did some things that made me a little angry. But Drew, I understand why you did it and I forgive you and I just want you to be happy because And to be honest, the ending gave me hope in a way too...(view spoiler)[Because of the MARSHMALLOW-message in Drew's letter (hide spoiler)] "Like souls find each other, you know. As corny as it sounds, I'm starting to believe we were brought together for a reason." ~ Fable One Week Girlfriend was a very surprising, unputdownable, fast-paced story that I very much enjoyed reading. Thankfully, the sequel is out already, so I'll be moving on to the second part of Drew and Fable story in Second Chance Boyfriend right away. I already know I'll be keeping my *fingers crossed* for a happy ending for these two... ****

The premise of the story doesn't seem to be too unique upon first glance, but its exactly what the title implies and yet is soooo much more and better. I did not expect to find such emotion and even some angst in this story but was pleasantly surprised when I did. The story is told from alternating POV's which quite honestly I don't normally like, but in this story it is done perfectly. The reader is continually drawn into what the other character is thinking due to the deep and emotional story lines taking place. Thats right there are real true deep back stories in this book, but I can't tell you what they are due to spoilers. Just TRUST me on this. Fable is the lead female character and yes her name is quite distracting but fitting. She is strong and not a whining virgin. I love that she is sassy with a backbone. I love that she is the one that is strong over the big hunky jock that is Drew Callahan. So unexpected. SWOONWORTHY DREW is HOTTTT! Not only is he hot he is deep. A fine ass football jock with.... baggage, lots and lots of baggage. He is so surprised by Fable and all that she can give him its touching. Not many young male lead characters grasp the need for this. My favorite sceene....under the trellis. SIGHHHHH! The back and forth is typical as they get to know each other and reveal their insecurities. Typical but I loved every single moment. Great job Monica Murphy! P.S. Adele can SUCK IT! I hope she gets hers in book two

4 1/2 Marshmallow Stars!! Fable is a terrific character! She is outspoken, beautiful, loyal she has been searching for someone/anyone to love and make her feel. She has her own baggage but together they make the perfect couple. ”Honestly, I don’t quite know how we got to this point. I hated him on sight. I did this only for the money. I thought he was a fucked up mess. I still think he’s a fucked up mess. But so am I. And he’s so beautiful, so thoughtful, so vulnerable. We can be a mess together. I want to heal him. I know I can heal him.” Fable’s week in this beautiful guest house on the water is like a fairytale in a way. Please note that the role of evil stepmother will be played by…Adele. Yep the woman is EVIL!!! Fable and Drew’s relationship develops and grows beautifully despite his issues. The couple has great chemistry and they both find someone to rely on and trust. When the week is over their lives will never be the same. The ending leaves us with a "hopeful" cliffhanger.

This was like taking a step into the unknown for me. I don’t read a huge amount of New Adult romances, I’m mostly an erotica gal, but something about the synopsis of this one really appealed to me and I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. It’s a highly accomplished debut novel and I devoured it in one sitting. It’s intriguing, fascinating, sad and very compelling and has a real Pretty Woman vibe going on. Drew is our hero – all American college football star, born with a whole silver dinner service in his mouth. A highly privileged childhood with his Father and Step-Mother but it seems money doesn’t buy happiness and right from the getgo Drew’s bone-deep sadness and extreme vulnerability were there in full force. I really felt for him – at first, I had absolutely no clue what was driving this guy to deceive his family that he had a girlfriend and, even as I guessed some of it, nothing would have prepared me for the whole shocking truth. So he decides to hire Fable to be his one week girlfriend to take home to his wealthy family to spend Thanksgiving with them. Fable is most definitely from the wrong side of the tracks and, due to her loser and often absent mother, has taken on whole responsibility for raising her wayward thirteen year old brother. She works in a bar and also as a waitress and has a bit of a reputation amongst the college jocks for being easy and so Drew decides she’s the one for the job. He’s wealthy enough to offer her a sizeable sum of money to make a big difference to her and her brother’s lives – he must really need to convince his family he’s dating. At first, I wondered if he was gay but his obvious attraction for Fable convinced me otherwise. I really liked Fable. For a young girl, she’s a wise old soul and she’s very intuitive and soon begins to see that not everything in the garden is rosy at Drew’s family home. She guesses part of the dark and terrible secret, the motivations behind Drew’s actions but she and Drew do not know it all and there is more shocking revelations to come. It was so lovely to see how these two travelled the road not yet taken – two kids from totally opposite backgrounds finding something in common and solace in one another's arms. Drew is damaged with a capital D and he’s putting is life on hold dealing with his issues, not really living at all, but Fable sets something free in him and she comforts him on a level that he’s just not been able to find before. Fable also lacks in self-worth and I wish I could say that Drew helped her there but he’s a little too wrapped up in his own issues but there is potential for more as the story is not yet complete and with a bit of a cliffhanger, we are left hanging on for more. 4 stars New Adult Romance For more reviews, please visit Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews or visit us on Facebook.

Well, as perfect as a family can be with one dead mother, and one dead sister. A fucked up stepmother and a cold as hell father. Yeah. Real perfect. Drew has to go home for Thanksgiving. Something he really doesn’t want to do. He’s not sure he can handle it alone. So he decides to bring someone with him... Fable. Fable is a local in the college town Drew lives in. Her life is totally different from Drew’s. She can’t go to college. No time or money. She works two jobs to help support her younger brother. Fable has a bit of a reputation from working at the local bar, and 'hooking up' with some of Drew's team mates. It’s so stupid, but I let guys use me because for that one fleeting moment, when he’s focusing all of his attention on me and no one else, it feels good. It helps me forget that no one really cares. Drew decides she would make the perfect candidate for his one-week, temporary girlfriend. When Drew approaches Fable, she has no idea why he would need her help. Drew should have no problem bringing home a real girlfriend. That has never been the problem for Drew. Girls always want to date him. But he can't do it. He has his reasons, which is why he needs Fable. She is hesitant at first, but when Drew offers her $3,000 for the week, she can’t turn it down. She needs the money to support her family. After spending some time together at Drew’s home, Fable can immediately tell something is up. Drew has something from his past he is hiding. Something no one can ever find out about. The guilt eats at him. He doesn't feel like he can tell anyone. “If I told you the truth, you’d hate me.” His voice is harsh, his expression pained. “I hate me for what I’ve done.” I figured out part of the big twist pretty early on, but then there is something else that comes to light... I really enjoyed this one. It wasn’t as light and fluffy as I thought it would be. Fable was a great leading lady. She is tough and I love how she helped Drew with everything. And Drew- Loved him! Hated what he had to go through, my heart broke for him. Hopefully in book 2 he can learn to forgive himself. The chemistry between Drew and Fable was hot! The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, but the note- M-A-R-S-H-M-A-L-L-O-W... gives me hope for a HEA in book 2 for these two! Some of my favorite quotes... I need help. I’m a fucking wreck and I need someone to save me before I become completely unsaved. -Drew I thought he was a fucked up mess. I still think he’s a fucked up mess. But so am I. And he’s so beautiful, so thoughtful, so vulnerable. We can be a mess together. I want to heal him. -Fable “There’s no going back,” he whispers, as if he can read my mind. I slowly nod, too overcome to find words. “Once I’m inside you, you’re mine. I want you to be mine, Fable.” “I want to be yours. I want to belong to you, Drew. Only you.” I always want him. Always. It’s always been like this between us, too. We come together and we simply... combust. So easily. Beautifully. -Fable

One Week Girlfriend knocked me off my feet! I totally fell in love with this emotional and heart-wrenching story! She knows Drew made this proposition because she h One Week Girlfriend knocked me off my feet! I totally fell in love with this emotional and heart-wrenching story! Drew pays Fable to be his fake girlfriend for the week of Thanksgiving, a week he must spend at home. He needs Fable for protection but as a reader you don’t know why. Fable agrees because she can barely make ends meet working as a barmaid. She needs the money. She has a poor excuse of a mother, and a teenage brother to take care of. She knows Drew made this proposition because she has a reputation of being easy, a reputation she doesn’t fight, but it’s not deserved, and it cuts her that this is the reason he’s picked her. She’s seen Drew at the bar before with his college mates and knows his type, entitled and used to getting what he wants, girls being no exception. Or so she thinks. Turns out Drew and Fable both have preconceived ideas about each other that are very wrong. Spending the week together they slowly realize this and begin to lean on each other, confide in one another, and connect emotionally: Drew reaches out and grabs hold of my hand again and when I look up at him, he smiles at me in the darkness. I have this sudden sense that it’s the two of us against the world. Mental and emotional connections are always so much more powerful than physical ones, IMO, but with Drew and Fable they have it all: We’re only two days into this fake relationship crap and this is where we’re at, wrapped around each other like pretzels and hoping like hell we don’t have to let go of each other any time soon.—Drew One thing they don’t have going for them is the demons that Drew has to fight. Trust me when I say they are ugly and fill me with murderous thoughts!! It won’t take you long to put two and two together to figure out what happened, but it will stun you and make you sick for poor Drew! Fable realizes that something really awful has happened to him to damage him so, and she’s determined to stick by his side and help him through. Monica Murphy managed to write a story made me swoon, ache and enrage me at the same time!! It’s one of those reads you don’t want to put down! And, oh, that ending! It’s not a cliff but it’s definitely NOT where I want things to end. I’m writing this itching to click over to purchase and load Second Chance Boyfriend so I can get my Drew and Fable HEA! *runs off to buy* Favorite Quotes (these are spoilers):(view spoiler)[ “This isn’t a game to me, Fable. This is my life. And I want you to be a part of it. But if you’d rather f&%k around with other guys, then I can’t deal with that. I want you and you only. I’m not sharing you with anyone else. “ I’ve always thought of myself as an independent person. I belong to no one. But the idea of belonging to Drew fills me with so much joy, I’m afraid I might burst. “I want you to be mine, Fable.” Loosening his hold on my wrists, he dips his head, nuzzling my cheek, my nose. It’s the sweetest, sexiest gesture and I moan as I circle my arms around his neck and cradle him close. “I want to be yours,” I answer in a breathy whisper. “I want to belong to you, Drew. Only you.” (hide spoiler)]

Drew is surprisingly vulnerable from the start, my Heart broke learning more of his story. This story was witty, charming and unputdownable, it also leaves the door wide open for book two. "Alive. Cherished. Loved." 4 marshmallow Stars. Ps I think I need a light read now please.

MARSHMALLOW LOVE ....only they could ever make it SOUND so much sweeter. =) recommended TO : anybody in need for a good old sweet and short love story , highly recommend as a light afternoon or evening read, with easy story and good writing to tally with. and yes i'll be reading the sequel...most defiantly :) oh n btw ! here's a spoiler to the sequel !!! (view spoiler)[ I stare at Fable, overcome with having her in front of me after not being near her for so long. She’s beautiful, pissed at me, and so….....God. I don’t even know what to think. Seeing her again is like having a million electric shocks bolting through my veins, both paralyzing me and goading me into action. I’m…overcome. All I know is I need her. Now more than ever. “I don’t know what I was going to do,” I finally say. She crosses her arms in front of her chest, plumping up her breasts in that sexy as hell black bra that I can see through the thin white lace shirt she has on. The outfit kills me. I want to both tear it off of her and throw a coat over her shoulders so no other guy can see her like this. “I can’t do this, Drew.” A laugh escapes her, though it lacks humor. “I think it’s best if we stay away from each other.” My heart bottoms out. Completely. I can’t even believe she’s saying this. Fighting the panic that threatens to sweep me under, I step closer to her. “Fable…” She steps back, looking scared, as if she has nowhere to go and that makes me feel like shit. “You should go.”I take another step toward her, and she takes another one back, bumping against the wall behind her. She’s trapped, she knows it and all I can think is thank God she can’t run away from me. “You don’t want me to leave.” “Yes, I do.” She nods, her expression firm but her voice is weak.I move in so close I invade her personal space. Her warmth, her scent wraps around me, intoxicating me and I brace my hands on the wall above her head, my arms bracketing her. I’ve got her completely caged in, and as I gaze down at her pretty, angry upturned face, all I can think is how much I want to kiss her and smudge that bright red lipstick all to hell with my lips. “How late do you work till?” I ask, my voice low, my thoughts…dirty. I want to get her home. Naked. In my bed. Impossible considering how I’ve ruined this fragile thing between us but I have hopes I can turn this around. The trembling in her body is a clue she’s not over me. The way she’s looking at me with all that pent up longing in her gaze tells me I still have a chance too. “Too late to meet with you after.” Reaching out, she pushes at my chest, her slender hands resting on my front and I hiss in a breath as if she burned me.But shit. It feels like she has. Having her hands on me again after so long, it’s like she’s branding me. Making her claim with just a touch. She has no idea that I’ve belonged to only her for months.Without thought I lean in, my lips going for hers but she turns her head at the last second and I end up kissing her cheek instead. She’s quivering, little shuddering breaths escape from her parted lips and I close my eyes, desperate to calm the pounding of my heart as I nuzzle the side of her face. “I really fucked up, didn’t I?” I whisper against her skin.Fable nods, draws in a deep breath as her hands drop away from my chest. “You did.” “Tell me what I can do to make it up to you.” I need to know. I can’t let her think this is over between us. She still keeps her face averted, as if she’s afraid to look me in the eyes. “It’s too late. There’s nothing you can do. It’s o—over between us.” I remove my hand from the wall to cup her cheek, forcing her to look at me. Those big, scared eyes meet mine and for a moment I’m lost. Like we’re back in time and at my parents’ guesthouse when we were about to embark on something big. Something serious. I had this girl in the palm of my hand and she had me. But I was such a chicken shit, I let her slip right out of my grip and now look at her.She’s…different. Her entire life has changed in a matter of weeks. And I had nothing to do with it. She’s moved on while I’m still stuck. The realization is staggering. “I need to get back to work,” she whispers. “You should go back to your friends.”I stroke her face, let my fingers trace the delicate line of her jaw. She closes her eyes, I notice the delicate movement of her throat as she swallows and I dip my head, this time making that connection I so desperately want. My mouth on hers, breathing her breath, tasting her lips, the sweet, mysterious depths within. She parts her lips immediately and I take advantage, slipping my tongue inside, tangling it with hers. A groan escapes me and she breaks the kiss first, our eyes opening at the same time and we stare at each other without saying a word, her gaze dropping to my mouth again. I know what she wants.I want it too.We can’t resist each other. This one moment is proof. I need to do something, say something to continue this connection.I need her. And she needs me. I know it. “Fable. Everything okay?”We both turn our heads to see some guy standing a few feet away, big and intimidating, dressed all in black, his gaze sharp as it lingers on me. He looks like he wants to kick my ass.Great. After his interruption, the feeling’s mutual. “I’m fine. Just getting back to work.” She shoves at me and I step back, letting her escape. Just like that. Fable doesn’t look at me as she heads into the restaurant. Doesn’t say a word to me or the guy and we’re left outside alone, glaring at each other, sizing each other up. He’s older, at least in his late twenties and big.But I’m taller. And broader. I could take him if I had to.That I’m thinking like this is totally ridiculous. “Who the hell are you?” he asks, his voice quiet but edged with steel.“I could ask you the same question,” I toss back. He crosses his arms in front of him. “I’m her boss.”Shit. I don’t want to screw up anything at her job. This place is nice, way nicer than La Salles and I bet she likes working here a lot more. Bet she makes more money too. “I’m her boyfriend.”He lifts his brows, a little chuckle escaping him. “Really? Funny, she didn’t mention you when we were together last night.” I’m so fucking shocked by what the asshole says that by the time I find my voice, he’s gone. 4 FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW SHAPED STARS! I couldn't help rounding this debut novel up to four stars, simply because of the steam factor and the over-the-top angst and drama. Maybe Fable & Drew will fill each others' emptiness. Maybe Drew will appreciate her. Their steamy make-out sessions -- Again, but in the shower -- The cute bits -- The angry bits -- The sad bits -- But wait, there's hope -- Cutest code word. Ever. And that letter... *** OVERALL: - I was impressed with the story for a debut novel! - The steam factor = turned ON & UP. - I figured out the "twist" earlier on in the story, but still, when everything was revealed, I was no less repulsed, angry, and shaking with rage. - Intense, over-the-top drama with a lot of angst, while taking "family dysfunction" to whole 'nother level. - Finished in one setting, two and a half hours, tops. - I'm actually really looking forward the sequel! Drew better WORK to get Fable back! - Finally, I really liked Fable's relationship with her little brother, Owen. Very realistic, natural, and sweet :) *** Happy readings!

As you have probably gathered from the summary for this book, Drew is hiding something. I mean how can he not be?! Fable...let me just say I love the uniqueness of her name!..is not interested in entertaining Drew's offer. **ARC copy provided by author for honest review** **Reviews can also be found on blog** http://realitybites-letsgetlost.blogs... As you have probably gathered from the summary for this book, Drew is hiding something. I mean how can he not be?! Fable...let me just say I love the uniqueness of her name!..is not interested in entertaining Drew's offer. Well at least not until he names the amount he is willing to pay her. There is no way she can turn this down when she is struggling to make ends meet as it is. But Fable is no fool. She knows early on there is more going on than Drew is willing to disclose. And she is okay with that...for now. Since this whole relationship is a fake, Drew and Fable work out the details of how they met, how long they have been together, etc. on the 4 hour drive to his parents home. Things are awkward to say the least seeing as how they barely know one another. But Fable is determined to make this work and be the best fake girlfriend she can be! So she comes up with a plan to save Drew if he should need to be rescued for any reason. They will have a safe word. One that can be spoken or he can text when he needs her. Marshmallow... [image error] As soon as they arrive at his parents home in Carmel, you quickly sense the tension. Fable questions her sanity for agreeing to this and Drew wonders why he so willingly dragged an innocent bystander into this mess. As the days pass and we get to see some more of the interactions with Drew and his family, things become increasingly uncomfortable for both him and Fable. At the same time, that seems to push Drew and Fable closer together. Lines begin to blur. They both question the actions of the other. Is this all part of the charade or could there be more going on? I guessed pretty early on what Drew was hiding. Do not let that fact scare you off though. It is not the only plot twist! And I totally did not see the others coming! This author has taken a story that has been done by many others but twisted it into something fresh and unique. I read this book in one sitting because I could not stop until I knew what was going to happen! I am going to tell you up front this is another one of those cliff hanger books. So, prepare yourself to be left wanting more...

I love that she is the one that is strong over the big hunky jock that is Drew Callahan. So unexpected. The sex scenes was so hot and yummy :) !!!! What can I say about the end????I NEED THE SECOND BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!! yOU MUST ALL READ THIS BOOK!!!

This was sort of in the middle. In the beginning, I struggled with the writing, found it choppy and kind of disjointed. We were given some mystery surrounding the characters which was nice but nothing to actually connect the reader to them. I never exactly cared for Fable but liked her more so in the second half. I really liked her and Drew together and felt like they could be complementary. Drew I definitely hurt for. I couldn't imagine the crap going through his head with what he has had to deal with and the impact and guilt it would have on him. Okay, as for the twist/secrets... I kind of guessed the first one (I'm assuming that most people would have so yay me?) but the second is kind of really messed up? Like I was just left with a bad taste in my mouth - again, the authors point, I get but ewwwww. Wtf. That's just badness. I hate the antagonist like a mofo so that's always promising. Then I simultaneously love and hate the ending. It's what's the characters needed so I'm glad the author didn't just bullshit everyone at the end but I would've liked a smidgen more coupley-ness to leave with the reader perhaps. But damn now I need the next book. And if no one has noticed yet, I don't read series'. I read the first book and then move on because I have book ADD and get way too distracted, but crap on a cracker Monica now I need more of these two! So I'll get around to it......... Eventually. ;)

It touched on some tough subject content we don't think about often (view spoiler)[incest between a son and a stepmother (hide spoiler)] . I think the author has a strong voice. I was surprised and very pleased. The only thing I can say I really didn't like, the use of the "cliffhanging" ending. We have another to look forward to, but not sure exactly when. I may not have read it so soon, if I knew I was going to have to wait to see these two fully commit. What things did I really like? 1 -- The subject content. The author handled some sensitive topics very well. 2 -- The voice of the author -- she does a very nice job. I moved through the story quickly. It isn't short, but it moves well. 3 -- The characters. I really liked Drew and Fable [just love this name!]. What didn't I like or appreciate? 1 -- Not a fan of the cliffhanger ending. Not at all. What is up with this all of a sudden. EVERY FREAKIN' author thinks this is the way to go. We have more series than we can keep up with. SERIOUSLY!! Crazy making. 2 -- The blurb put me off. If I hadn't seen some conversation about this book and how good it was, I probably wouldn't have read it based on the cover and the blurb. Neither did much for me. The blurb is in Fable's first person POV. This isn't really how the story is told and if you don't like reading books from this viewpoint, you may not give it a shot. That would be sad because this book is very good. 3 -- The cover -- mentioned before. Nothing outstanding, so didn't pull me. Overall, a very good read. I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting a good story with a bit of meat. Not the fluff you think it will be. Happy Reading!

Fan-fucking-tastic!!!!!! Wow! This book was amazing! I was sucked into Drew and Fable's story from the beginning. Shit, so many secrets and twists my mind was reeling! But damn if I didn't feel heartbroken and happiness all at once. That last part had me crying, from sadness and possibly tears of hope. I can NOT wait for the continuation!! Full review to come! This book was all over GR and I was getting curious about it. So what did I do? One Click on Amazon, I did. I'd read some reviews and was Fan-fucking-tastic!!!!!! Wow! This book was amazing! So what did I do? One Click on Amazon, I did. I'd read some reviews and was instantly intrigued. Not to mention that cover, HOT DAMN. That would have anyone wanting to read it. But what was inside was even more beautiful....broken boy with disturbing secrets + broken girl wanting to save said broken boy from his past and you got Drew + Fable. A love story filled with pain, grief, loss and love. Drew Callahan is the hot spoiled rich college football star. His life looks perfect on the outside. He's sexy, rich and totally sweet. He could have any girl he wants. Any. Girl. Yet on the inside he's holding onto secrets that are life shattering and shocking to the core and a bit disturbing. Which is why he's not really the dating type. He throws himself into football and school and that's it. But when it comes to the week of Thanksgiving, he asks a girl for help, possibly the only one that could help him and make him forget his real problems. His life is far from perfect. Fable Maguire is a barmaid and waitress. She works 2 jobs to help take care of her little brother because their deadbeat alcoholic irresponsible whore of a mother is too damn busy sticking her shit into "other" things than giving a shit about parental roles. She's got her priorities fucked up. So, Fable decides to step up and play mother to Owen, her 13 year brother who's getting into trouble and acting out. But that's normal right for boys his age? Still, Fable grows concerned, especially when she has to leave him at home for a week. Everyone thinks Fable is the town slut because, well she's been around. But she's far from what the rumors are saying. All she's ever wanted to be was loved and wanted. Was that too much to ask? Drew approaches Fable after a work night at the bar and asks for her to come home with him for Thanksgiving week. He even pays her. To be his pretend girlfriend. To prove something to his parents. And she accepts. What she doesn't plan on is falling for him, all the while learning Drew's deep, dark disturbing secrets that may send her running. Or it may be the one thing that brings them together. Who knows? I loved this book! I devoured it in a day, actually from the time I started it last night and then finished today, it was less than 24 hours. I loved it. I guessed some things that were going to happen but it didn't make it easier when it was revealed. If anything, it made it that much harder. I LOVED the fact that it was from both POV's. That is what initially had me reading this book. I love when books are told from both MC's. And in this case, it was essential. We saw both of their struggles as they both faced difficult choices and emotions that neither were familiar with. The steam was perfect and beyond HOT! Holy hell, Drew had me weak in the knees. He had me glad I wasn't in public at some parts. That boy can make you wet just with his voice. DAMN!!! I loved Drew. I loved his voice and how he felt when he was falling for Fable. For real. Not the fake "you're my girlfriend for a week so we have to pretend" way. No, when he realized that life without her was useless and uncomprehencible. I loved his inner voice. I loved his emotions when they surfaced and we got glimpses of the sweet, vulnerable side and it was sexy as shit. His fears, his doubts, his pain when he we find out about his secrets he's holding so deeply to his heart. It was overwhelming. I felt so bad for him. I wanted to comfort him and tell him it wasn't his fault. I wanted him to know he's better than what he thinks he is and deserves love just like everyone else. He does. I loved him. Drew D. Callahan. Ahhhhhhhh My Drew: Fable. She was awesome. Her kind and generous spirit. Wanting to help Drew face his demons and she still stuck around. She didn't run. It was so noble of her. I loved her inner voice as well. The way she was struggling with certain things. Being thrown into such a crazy whirlwind and she stood her ground even though she was scared shitless. I'd say she was a brave, courageous chick. Drew was lucky to have her and vise versa. They both belonged together. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts. The way they described each other. The way they talked about each other's bodies, not like ravenous animals just wanting to fuck like jack rabbits. But they really cared deeply on an emotional level. It was so sweet and beautiful to see them grow together and find love in each other. Neither one expecting anything more than a fake show for the people around them. But here they were, really falling for one another, scared shitless yet determined to show how much they meant to each other. LOVED IT! My Fable: My Adele....though she has black hair, I couldn't help but picture Kristen. She's described as beautiful and young, right? I couldn't help but see her. Just picture Kristen with black hair(though I doubt she would look good as anything but a blonde) but oh well. It's just my vision. “But this girl...she doesn’t feel pointless. She’s real and she’s beautiful and she fits perfectly when she’s in my arms. She makes me want to feel.” -Drew P.S. M*A*R*S*H*M*A*L*L*O*W.... I need the next book now, please!!!!!!!!

I do not like this book. It is good that the author brings out the issue of child molestation to surface. However she did not give enough respect on executing it. With such sensitive topic, it needs to be address more sensitive. At the end, it was Drew who have to come to Fable to rescue her. Why is that? It is Drew who needs to be saving. I also do not like how the ending of it. It left everything hanging. And what about Adele?? She got away just like that?? I think with such sensitive topic, t I do not like this book. Drew’s Father is busting his balls about his future. His Step-Mother Adele is just being a plain bitch to Fable and Drew It’s the longest week of their lives, Until Drew has a meltdown. It was supposed to push Fable away but it bought them closer. She is helping him more than he knew he needed. She is falling for him more than she should. On the final day of there week long “Fake” Relationship Just like a house of cards It all comes crashing down Everything is revealed…. And then of course A CLIFFHANGER GAH!! Really??!! Is it because I guessed the secret pretty quickly and figured out Adele was the devil that you just sprung a cliff hanger on me?! I was expecting a nice little HEA but NOOOOO! Ok in saying that the cliff hanger is no where near as bad as I have read lately, and it was actually kinda cute but still leaves you with unanswered questions! So yes. I will be reading the second book! .

Thank god I waited to read the first book until the second one came out. But inside he is harboring a secret so deep and dark, that it rules his entire being turning him into a robot, a shell, unfeeling. In a desperate attempt to deal with the nightmares that plague him with an upcoming trip to his childhood home for Thanksgiving, he approaches Fable, a girl he doesn't know but has a reputation that fits his means, with a proposition. He will pay her $3,000 to pretend to be his girldriend for a week and go with him back home. Fable is a girl that is dealing with her own demons. She takes care of her 13 year old brother because her mother is an alcoholic. Desperate to make ends meet, she agrees to Drew's proposition. In the week that follows, relationships change, feelings grow, and secrets are revealed. And something that was only supposed to be pretend, turns into something very very real. This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. Drew is such a tortured soul, it hurt my heart. 10% into the book I had a feeling about what his secret might be. 66% it only got worse and when we finally find out about the whole thing Wow! just wow! Even though I had a pretty good idea what would happen, it didn't make it any less of a gut-wrenching revelation. This book deals with a subject that is not typically touched from quite this angle (view spoiler)[sexual abuse of a male, minor (hide spoiler)] I was enthralled with the story from the very first page and could.not.put.it.down until the last. It was emotional, dark, gritty. The relationship that develops between Drew and Fable didn't seem forced or far fetched- it was beautiful to read. An emotionally beautiful story about pain, nightmares, forgiveness, and tragedy. Starting the 2nd book right now. Can't wait! 5 stars
