I hate giving negative reviews, but this novel annoyed me. There were frequent grammatical errors that the author should have been able to catch if she didn't want to invest in an editor. Cat Miller constantly switched the point of view, mixed her pronouns and never explained who was speaking until several sentences into the dialog. She switched between past and present events without warning and rarely bothered to describe the setting of any of the scenes. Worse than the grammatical errors was the ridiculous plot. I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be a romance novel because despite the well-documented sex scenes and love the characters claimed to have for each other the heroine fell in love with an endless train of men, several of them at the same. Most of the novel revolved around Danielle running back and forth into the arms of different men while at the same time feeling hurt and betrayed by them. The bad guy was never revealed, just a bunch of henchmen out do do their master's dirty work. Each of them were killed or even ignored instead of questioned. Perhaps Cat Miller thought this would build mystery and dramatic tension, but it didn't work. The evil plan was never explained except in vague references to someone long ago that tried to steal vampire abilities. For what, mere power? World dominance? To get more sex? He's just some power-hungry enigma. This could have been a wonderful story about a young vampire discovering herself and uncovering family secrets while falling in love. Instead it bounced around from the past to the present, from perspective to perspective, and into the beds of several men until I lost respect for all of the main characters and didn't care what happened to them.

I had such high hopes for this book. I really really wanted it to be good. It can be so hard to find a good vampire book these days. It started out good but just turned into horrible dribble. I'll give it one thing though; it wasn't your typical romance..... It was something much, much worse. Buckle up boys and girls, your in for one hell of a rant. The Vampires: I hate too perfect vampires. I cannot stand when a supernatural book has a species that has virtually no weaknesses. They can basically do whatever the hell they want with no concequences. Vampires are the undead for crying out loud! Not some sparkly bunch of pansies that Stephanie Meyers "Twilight" seems to have unleashed onto the YA fiction world. Is a little death by sunlight really asking for too much? You don't have to make them as depressing as Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire" but at least provide them with some sort of imperfection. Joss did an amazing job with the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" vampires because they have a good balance of strenghts and weaknesses. They are sensitive to holy water and all that jazz but are still super strong and quite powerful. The point is that they can be killed. I liked the fact that Cat added that if a vampire "bonds" with another vampire/human they will forever love them. Kind of like...... Imprinting. And we are back to Twilight. Isn't that always the way? If anyone finds a good vampire book please comment because it's like I have to metally prepare myself for mind numbing mush before reading one. Danielle(heroine): Why? Why Cat Miller? Why did you have to make Dani so perfect? I can't count the number of times I had to listen to someone talk about her beauty and intelligence. This goes back to the whole balance thing. You can't have a too perfect main character. I didn't find her remotly relatable. She was too powerful and too beautiful. It struck me as odd that in highschool she claims she was made fun of for her looks yet in college she can't seem to keep them away. It didn't help that she was throwing herself at every guy in a 50 mile radius. She went from one guy to the next like a girl on a mission. She would be with one guy but string every other guy along on a leash. She gave up her v card like it was nothing (and to some guy she cheats on, then dumps like that), and threw around the word love like she was trying to win a contest. Once you have more than three people in love with a hero/ heroine at the same time you know there is a problem. She annoyed me to no end but to everyone else she could do no wrong. Like her shallow ego needed that much praise. Dani acted like she was the most innocent person but even in the begginning of the book we can see that she's not. She basically attacked Lucas and got upset because he wasn't ready. What an idiot. I think what really put the icing on the cake was the never ending complaining. She got everything she could ever want but continued to act like she was wronged. She throws a hissy fit at Lucas for sleeping with someone else when she was guilty of the exact same thing. Somehow she is always the victim. I kinda have to applaude her; it takes real effort to twist everything around to make herself look better like that. Overall one of the worst main characters ever. She's up there with Kylie from "Born at Midnight". The Men: There was something about all of the guys in the book that pissed me off. Oh yeah- they're a bunch of love sick morons that seem to think that Dani is some kind of other worldly goddess. It was like reading Romeo and Juliet with horrible grammer. Oh and the title might look more like this: "Romeo and Paris and Mercucio and Benvolio and Sampson and Gregory and Every Other Single Guy in Verona and Juliet." The only guy I really liked was Charlie. But he got dumped pretty quick. Plus there's Vince. I don't know what it is but something about people talking in third person amuses me. Like when Ellen made Denise Quaid walk into that store to announce: "Denise Quaid is here!" Ahh, Classic. I never felt any character development in the men. Unless you count them using different adjectives to describe Dani's beauty or amazingness. Yep, the English lanuage has sure risen to new heights. Honestly this book could have been so much better if they combined Charlie and Cayden into one character. Then at least the boy count would have been a little less and she wouldn't have lost her virginity to a guy who she really just thinks of as a friend. Like come on, really? Okay I promise I'm almost done with my rant. It's just that I am dumb-founded with the amount of 5 stars this book got. I used to be able to trust Goodreads. What happened? Oh well. On to another book I suppose.

Dani was such a Mary Sue. She was so beautiful, so powerful, so wanted. Every guy she encountered wanted her, it was just too much. The bad: Lucas - I had a really hard time believing this relationship. Four years together and nothing happened? Wasn't buying it. He went beyond hot and cold. She couldn't go out, but it was ok for him. Another reviewer said the author took a nice guy and made him horrible just to have an excuse for them to break up. Why not just break them up because of the distance Dani was such a Mary Sue. She was so beautiful, so powerful, so wanted. Every guy she encountered wanted her, it was just too much. Why not just break them up because of the distance? Everything else was just unneeded. Charlie - Sometimes I found him sweet, other times I thought he was sleezy. He really was so accepting of everything? Hardly. His reaction was just unbelievable, and for me came off as just wanting to get her into bed. Chase - I never liked him. At all. Ever. Sam - Stereotypical spoiled rich girl. I like new takes on vampires, and that could have saved this book for me, but the characters killed it. Dani fell in and out of love so fast, all men were panting after her, and of course she was so powerful. Honestly, I got to the point where I was skimming the book until I couldn't take it any more. Cliff hanger ending? Just don't care. I really don't care what happens next.

She is powerful as all hell and that's when she meets Chase. Chase knows what she is before she even does. They have a strong connection with one another and take a quick liking to each other. But of course they both have a significant other that plays into the mix. THEN! It becomes a love triangle. Which I loathe. But this one wasn't so bad. I was able to get through it. This book was filled with loads of action, love, but most of all betrayal. Everyone stays betraying one another in this book. It's insane. Lol. But it leaves for a good story. Haha. This was well written in my opinion and I loved it so much. I'm sad to continue with the series and the MC change from Dani to Brandi. But I want to know what happens with the rogue and hopefully since this is told in 3rd person that I'll get some more Chase and Dani. Because no matter how much I loved this book the epilogue wasn't enough for me. It needed to give me more. This was worse than a cliffhanger...

Soon she is fighting for her life all while trying to find out what she is and who will love her and accept all of her. Dani thinks she has found that in Chase but he is hiding secrets from her also. Chase is drawn to Dani from the moment he sees her and wants to make Dani his but family obligations get in the way. Broken hearted Dani turns to Cayden who is best friends with Chase for support but the friendship turns into more and causes pain for all three involved. Through all the lies, betrayal, and self doubts Dani comes to find out who she can trust her heart with. But another has his sights set on making Dani his own. In a story that will have you crying, screaming, laughing, and breaking your heart. You will see Dani come into her own and make the vampire world come to love and respect her just as I did. I give this book 5/5 stars all though it deserves so much more. I am waiting impatiently for the next book.

I kind of liked Dani's character, but not really. (Hush, I know that dosent make sense). She made a good heroine half the time, but dang... she kissed and wanted just about any and everything that paid attention to her. She was supposed to be so powerful, yet she was always getting captured and hurt. Sometimes she was smart and then she would have to be extremely stupid to keep the story moving. She was annoying at best. Chase was a complete weakling. There was nothing to like about him! I mean, I kind of liked Dani's character, but not really. (Hush, I know that dosent make sense). She was annoying at best. Chase was a complete weakling. There was nothing to like about him! I mean, not one little tiny thing about him was endearing. He was a straight LOSER! A complete waste of time. I didn't like him at all. Usually there is at least one thing I like about the hero, but not this one. Yet, I kept reading the story and had to find out what happened in the end. 1 star because I loved the little brother so much, but wish he had a bigger role in the story. 1 star because I managed to read the whole book even though I didn't want to. 1 star because the plot was actually a great idea but most of the main characters were unlikable or irritating. I will not be reading the next book in this series. I actually feel relieved that I'm done with this book. I sound like a mean person because something about this book makes me feel like I'm mad. This is CRAZY!

Unbound had me going out of my mind with anticipation!! Danielle was such a tough girl she excelled through anything and everything. Her human boyfriend that just hurt her on so many levels. To her changing and so many emotions all at once! Kayden helped her through so much especially battling her feelings for Chase. Love and Souls are united and it was absolutely beautiful! This book also tells you to be careful who you trust. All is not what it may seem.

I feel like I am reading some kind of tween twilight wannabe: Illogical and ridiculous. Also, there is a large amount of "love at first sight", which I find can be believable (depending on the author) but in this case is so absolutely RIDICULOUS that I can't even think about it without cringing. If the goal was to appeal to Twilight fans who want less logic and more irrational drama, then I think we've got a winner! 5. On a more technical standpoint there is an insane amount of grammatical mistakes, including random switches between POV's and past/present participles. 6. How is she so goddamn powerful? She's half human so logically she should be weaker, even if she does have some skills unusual for full blooded vampires. Even if the author did want Danielle to be some kind of all-powerful vampire, it makes no sense that she would be able to control her dad (who is supposedly an verrry powerful member of the verrrry powerful vampire council). But then again, the whole plot isn't logical, so I don't know what I was expecting. 7. There is little to no world-building and character development is non-existent. Cat really had such a great way of bringing her entire story together from the description of the scenery to every character. I really felt like I was sucked in. No character was really left abandoned in the background as she made every one of them, no matter how small have a roll in the way her main character lived her life and the decisions she made. There were even side stories that pulled me in almost as much as the main one itself. With so many twists and turns it was hard for me to put the book down. Every time I thought for sure that things were going to go a certain way; and I wanted it to be so, it would suddenly change! Of course it was written so well that soon as the next change hit I loved it even more than what was happening before. It's probably never a good sign when, after finishing a book, you don't feel even a bit sad but you just want to sing and dance because you're finally over with it. I downloaded this e-book for free, and even though you shouldn't judge a book by its cover - or, in this case, by its price - my expectations weren't too high. Still, it managed to dissapoint me. The only reason this book gets 2 stars (or maybe rather 1,5) instead of 1 is because I liked the basic idea, because it wasn't as horribly prude as teenage-vampire-novels usally are and because it had some potential. Sadly, it didn't use any of it. Alright. Let's talk about the writing style first. I felt like it was rather simple and clumsy. There were a lot of very unnecessary repetions which were really annoying with time. The author divided her chapters into parts told by different characters. I'm not sure why she did this because within these parts she didn't really stick to a personal narrator, she started out with one person's thoughts or feelings but then she basically told the story from every point of view all the time anyways. Some of these insertions were really short, too, like half a page or something, so the chapters sometimes seemed like patchwork rugs. Also, it was a bit annoying that she wouldn't tell who was telling this part in the beginning of the part. I don't know wether this was on purpose and she wanted me to keep guessing and create some suspense, but it was just really annoying to read someone's thoughts and not have a clue what he's actually talking about until the very end of their part when there's finally a name to those thoughts. It's also a bit weird that we've been in every single person's head numerous times throughout the story but somehow they still managed to hide important stuff from us, the reader, so they can surprise us with their knowledge in the end. Just no. Either you surprise us or you give us someone's thoughts, you can't do both. The writing made everything seem boring, too. There were a lot of sexy scenes which were not sexy at all but just very, very dull. Whenever something happened that could have been exciting, it just makes you yawn. The scenes that are not meant to be exciting are even worse, they're just lot of blah, blah, blah. Second, the characters. The only one I liked was JR and he's a very minor character with like two or three appearences at all. I hated everyone else. They all acted like they were twelve, even though they were supposed to be College-kids, some even older. They were all super beautiful (especially super beautiful, also, they all kinda looked the same, a bunch of skinny girls and very muscular guys), super smart and super funny. Dani, the main character, managed to fall in love with every single guy she met (probably she just couldn't tell them apart either, can't blame her) and of course every male being on this earth is completely mad for her, too, because she's so stunningly beautiful. Like, come on, get over yourself. The guys she fell in love with were all a bunch of huge, misogynistic assholes, too. They're all out to "claim her" and "make her theirs" and not a single one cares about anything she ever says, they're all so sure they're the best that there's no chance at all she might not want them. Even if she says so, obviously she must be lying. In the end, when Danis one true love Chase (who is the worst of them all, hands down) decides he wants to marry her after they haven't even spoken with each other for an eternity because, well, he's an ass, he doesn't go looking for her to ask her to forgive him and start things over again, no, he goes looking for her because he has "an important announcement to make". That's just how every guy in this goddamn book is. Not very romantic at all, sorry. The image the author has of women is very questionable in general. You know, catcalls actually not very cute or cool or charming, they're just rude. Men do absolutely not have permission to wolf-whistle a girl just because she wears a short dress. Also, the author seems to be a huge slut-shamer. There are numerous times in this book were Dani talks about how she's "not that kind of girl" or "not the slut he wants her to be". There's is this girl she dislikes, Sam, (who she calls "Horror-Barbie" by the way, doesn't that sound really mature and grown-up?) who she constantly calls a slut, too, simply because she doesn't like her and obviously her dresses are not long enough. It makes me want to slap someone very, very hard. After you finish the book you're left with some sort of very unsatisfying "Alright, now what?"-kind of feeling. If I had to tell someone what the book was actually about, I could tell them about the initial situation, but not more. What was the book about? Was it about Dani and her relationships? Because they were all more or less the same, none of them seemed to be very important. Is it about that mad guy who kills young vampires and wants to kill Dani? Because this storyline seemed even less important to me than the relationship one, it wasn't really mentioned that much and somehow it seemed to be some kind of filler to at least give this book one interesting aspect. This did not work very well, though, because it's pushed into the background way to much to not be boring and annoying. Which is sad, because it would have had potential. Is it about the family-thing? This was actually the part I was most excited about and it would definitely had potential, too, but somehow the author managed to even ruin this buy not really adressing the topic in more than two or three sentences until very late in the book and then it gets boring. Overall, the author just didn't use any of her possibilities with this book. The book ends with some kind of cliff-hanger, but there's no way I'll ever read the sequel. Not even, if it's free, too. Not even if I get paid for it. I'm just so very happy that I managed to finish it and I'm definitely not putting myself through this again.

Unbound (A Forbidden Bond Novel) by Cat Miller I picked this story up on amazon, after following a link on facebook. It was free so I figured 'Why not?' By the time I was a quarter of the way through, I knew this was a series that I'd never forget! I read a LOT! I'm talking a solid 4-5 novels per week and that's a lot considering my role as wife, full-time mother to three children and a working nurse. This story is like no other I've ever read! I'm talking a solid 4-5 novels per week and that's a lot considering my role as wife, full-time mother to three children and a working nurse. This story is like no other I've ever read! Sure, Ive fallen head over heals in love with many a paranormal romance before... but this is something entirely different! It's like reading ten novels in one! Many stories have what would ultimately be the perfect love story except for all those pesky dilemmas and problems that come up at the half way mark. Then, you're left reading just to see how said conflict is resolved so that the characters can finally have their happily ever after. Cat Miller went against the grain on this one and knocked it out of the park! Just as I'm being drawn into one story-line with our main character Dani, the scenery changes and I cant wrap my mind around it and it's sheer awesomeness! Yes, this book has me speaking like a teenager but believe me, it is for anything but! Our characters are not only dealing with the drama of a long hidden secret of vampirism, secret societies, love triangles (or whatever the word for a six-way love triangle is), society class structures, but they also have what's likely the hardest of all to deal with... growing up, coming into the adult world of serious commitments, college, the loss of innocence (virginity included) and everything else that comes with the transition into adulthood. I'm especially fond of the way the author allows the characters to "play the field". This is quite a rarity in a romance novel, but it allowed me to see the characters as more than wonderful works of fiction. I was able to truly relate to them, and become emotionally invested. It just felt so real to me at some points that I found tears falling from my face, and literally laughed out loud! Subsequently, I was sitting in a doctors office waiting room with my trusty e-reader in hand when one of these emotional outbursts overtook me. Boy, was my face red! In moments of what Catt Miller calls "sensual romance", she describe in detail the passion that has built in the story. She graphically describes these moments of passion, but in a way that leaves you heated, but not feeling 'dirty'. (Unless of course you're in a medical reception room when reading it... then, you just feel like everybody in the room KNOWS you just read about someones blouse being removed). These moments are completely essential to the story-line and in NO WAY would I ever consider it smut or think of this tale as pornographic. This story kept me awake until the sun came up, feverishly turning the pages, unable to put it down even for a few hours of much needed rest. I feel very blessed to have stumbled upon this tale and am eagerly awaiting the release of the next chapter! And don't forget to follow the amazing woman behind this tale on Facebook. This was a book that I actually finished all the way through, which is rare for me. The book was pretty good starting from the beginning. One thing I didn’t like was that the love triangle was overly done. For a long time, I didn’t know who she actually loved. I felt at she led the guys on. She had a boyfriend from high school who she liked. She had a college boyfriend who was human and slept with him after meeting him a few days . They went out on one date and she “BANGED him”. She had a boyfriend from high school who she liked. She had a college boyfriend who was human and slept with him after meeting him a few days . They went out on one date and she “BANGED him”. The main character met a vampire who she also liked and wanted to sleep with him but it was always at the wrong time. If it wasn’t for the wrong TIMING she would have slept with all the guys in this book. She met another guy named Chase who was also a vamp and she said she loved him. I really don’t know how she ended up falling for the vamp called Chase because there was not much to read from that topic. One day she meets Chase then she falls in love. I thought …. “What the hell, did I miss something. “When did these two fall for one another?” I found myself looking back a couple of pages but I just couldn’t find what cause her to have so much feeling for Chase. If the author would have spent more time on Dani and chase and the reasons why they were in love it would of made the story more believable. Several guys were fighting for her love and her affections; they were 2 humans and 3 vamps who wanted her. The entire love triangle was overdone. If the book would have been like… I’ll give you an example: Twilight, I know that is not the best book in the world and probably half of the people reading this review hate it, but I need to give you an example to get my point across. We all know who Bella loved. She liked Jacob as a friend and Edward was the only one who she loved. The author wrote more about Edward and Bella and how they fell in love. Bella made it clear to Jacob that she loved Edward and that there was no one else in her life and only wanted to be friends. Everyone knew who she was going to end up with. There is a love triangle, but the author was clear who Bella wanted. Get it!!!!! The love triangle is great, Jacob trying his hardest to get with Bella, insisting to be with her but there was no use. In this book it was more confusing. Dani wanted one more person than the other but couldn’t decide like if she was playing all of them putting them against each other. The author wrote more about the other men in Dani’s life and not much about Chase. The characters felt forced and Chase sounded fake. Someone spoiled and mean who wanted his way. The author needs to work more on Chase and Dani and why they fell for one another. Other than that the book was good. Not that much for a 5 star but close. If I were an author I look into the review more deeply and see what I am doing wrong so that I won’t make the same mistake again. Well done, I hardly give authors a 4 or 5 star reviews but this one was pretty good.

I received this book from the author to give an honest review. WOW, AMAZING! Where do I start. Unbound had me from the beginning, and left me wanting more. The ending has me wanting to jump into book 2 right away. I think I honestly may go with withdrawals, I really want to know what is going to happen next. You will learn to love and hate Chase, Dani (Danielle), Cayden and a whole lot of other characters. You will follow through the journey of Dani and her learning that she is not just a human but also a vampire. Also her mom Tessa has been hiding this secret from her for 19 years. Why? Well that you will have to read the book to find out. When Dani leaves for college not only does she leave behind her boyfriend Lucas (which he just made me want to smack him a couple of times through out the beginning of the story) her life ends up turning upside down. She meets other vampires and ends up torn between two of them. All the while she is wondering why men are just flocking around her and claim their feelings for her. But when she finds out the truth her life becomes in danger. Can she escape the danger? Can she pick the guy she wants to be with? Will her heart be broken? All these questions are answered in Unbound and will have you turning the pages to find out what happens next. It is a book you can not and will not want to put down. You will be wanting more, or at least I did. There was one part in the book that made me just tired of hearing this character. Vince is his name, he kept talking in third person and after a couple of pages of reading it, I was hoping this character died off or learned not to TALK IN THIRD PERSON! I am very glad he was not in the whole story, because that would have made me put the book down no matter how good of a story, characters, and plot was. One of the characters that I loved how Cat Miller wrote him out to be, was JR not only was he a child but he was so sweet. JR does not play a big part in this story so that is why I wrote a bit about him. He is the little kid you just want to hang around with and play video games with. You want to give him hugs and kisses. He was wrote in as such a lovable and kindhearted sweetheart.

Dear god this book was terrible. Now, here is the thing, I often enjoy sappy vampire romances but this was just horrible, horrible, horrible. So let me break it down for you on why: 1. She pretends to be this innocent and sweet girl that everyone should love while she stabs everyone in the back and then asks for forgiveness after. She strings along every man she encounters and then expects them to not want anything in return. If you kiss one of your "friends" of course you are going to be giving them the wrong idea, so why the hell be surprised when they ask you about it? The "Danielle system" works like this: she meets the guy, the guy acts like she is the last human on Earth and he has to have her, Danielle gives the guy the wrong idea by kissing, taking them on a date, saying dumb shit, and then she goes back and says she doesn't want anything more than a friendship (or she blames the guy for something they did/didn't do). After that she moves on to the next victim or sleeps with Chase. Essentially, Danielle is a manipulative maneater (cue Nelly Furtado please). 2. The men also suck. These poor bastards can't seem to resist this chick even though she has no shortage of issues. Lucas, Jared, Chase, Kayden, god, how many more guys is this girl going to go for? The men were all shallow creatures that spent all their time thinking with their dicks. There was not much development for these characters throughout this book and I felt no connection to any of the men that Danielle went through. 3. The writing is definitely sub par. I spent most of the book asking myself, "who the fuck wrote this shit?" Every reaction is weird and unnatural. There were so many instances where I couldn't believe anyone would ever react or say the things Cat Miller wrote. As for the plot, the general idea wasn't bad, which is why I was interested in the book in the first place but the execution was no good. I got bored of the main plot fairly quickly and couldn't care less about that unknown "master" who was killing vampires for no particular reason. If you still want to give this book a try, do so at your own risk. You have been warned.

Great Book I really love this book. I won't give out any spoilers though. What I will say is in that all the pages I read the main character the girl had to go through a lot of stuff. It was so much territory covered in this and I don't mean physical and they really didn't get in too deep of the Gory part of the vampires which was fine with me. It was one of those books that I just had to hurry and finish I read it in less than a day even though it is a long read I just couldn't put it down. I see Great Book I really love this book. I see Miss Miller already has another book out and I plan to get it right away although these characters will you mentioned in the new book it's not really a cliffhanger. You do get your happily ever after but there's an element that just makes you need to read the next book. Already read the preview for the next book and I really wished it had been written about a different character it was contained in this book I know who the girl is in the next book but I don't know the guy I'm hoping it's one from this book that I really liked. I hope Miss Miller continues the series I really want to know what happens to the parents of the main character and also the parents of the main male character. In other words this author has hooked me. I hope she reads this review. If so and you write under any pen names I would love if you would tell me what they are that's how much I really like this book and the way she wrote it did have some chapters that were he said she said but not every single chapter switch from character to character it's not just about two characters there are so many different ones that I like and dislike in here I'm sure this will be a book on need to reread and I swear I thought I wanted to have a piece of paper to take notes of the characters and who they were. I alternated between the audiobook and reading and found that I really enjoyed that of course I can go so much faster with my physical reading of a book then I can with an audiobook but I think the person who narrated did a good job I enjoyed your voice and thanks you did a real good job. Thanks again. I have to run so I can start the next one!

It begins by showing the beautiful relationship of a forbidden love that causes the worst heartbreak ever for not only the couple, but also their newly birthed daugher, Soliel. Once this aweful loss has been established it wisks you into the future of 18 years later to show the life of this suposedly 'normal' teenage girl that is about to enter into college and is noticing so many changes in her life that she feels she is literally going crazy. She begins to notice a 'Black-eyed Freak' in the mirror that she never noticed before and is not sure how to deal with it. Then to top it all off she is falling in love with not only one guy, but three other guys while trying to figure out how to keep holding on to the love she left behind in her home town after leaving for college. Problem is that she has secrets that even she hasn't discovered and uncovered yet. When she finds out that the only person that can help her with these secrets is her mother and godfather, which happens to be a vampire by the way, she begins to breakdown and is thrown into the arms of a killer. She is shortly deemed as a hero in the circle of friends that she is now apart of, but not before facing charges of murder herself. This book has twists and turns that you would not believe. Just when you think all is right in the world the 'Black-eyed Freak' comes back out and turns everything upside down again. I enjoyed this book tremendously and can't wait until Cat Miller's second book, Unforgiven, comes back out. ~WaAr~ [[ASIN:B005PQTCZI Unbound (The Forbidden Bond Series)]][[ASIN:1475247435 Unbound: The Forbidden Bond Series (Volume 1)]]

I initially downloaded this book when it was on a free weekend. It was about vampires, so I figured, "Why not?". I was not expecting to like it so much! The story grabbed me from the beginning and took me on the adventures of Dani as she discovered her heritage as a half vampire. While this book is no longer on a free weekend, I can honestly say it was worth full price. I'll tell you what I liked about this book: * This book grabbed me from the beginning and I did not want to put it down. * The story of Dani's parents was interwoven throughout the whole book. It was not an "add on" to make a premise. I am optimistic that we will see more from them in the next book. * Watching the story of Dani as she grew into who she could be was, while painful at times because she did some really dumb things, so interesting and authentic. You really felt like you knew why she was doing what she was doing. * I loved seeing how the social structure of her father's society impacted all aspects of this story. I am really looking forward to seeing re of it in the next book. * The mystery was well developed. I am looking forward to seeing how it is resolved as the series continues. * As a first book in a series, it did what it needed to do. It introduced us to many characters who we want to learn more about. it introduced us to a new world, while leaving parts of it to be explored. It answered many questions, while presenting new ones. I am excited to see where this story goes. All in all, I really enjoyed this read. It was a bit different from the typical vampire tales. It had romance, adventure, mystery, and family drama. I am excited that book two is already out!

I couldn’t believe a book this good was hiding under my radar. This book begins with us learning about Danielle Vaughn. Her mother became mates with a Vampire and they had her as an outcome. Griffin, Danielle’s father, is the equivalent of vampire royalty. To be mated with a human is unheard of and dangerous. His parents were going to murder his family, but his best friend stepped in and faked records showing that Danielle and her mother, Tessa, died hours after childbirth. Danielle is now eighteen years old thinking she is a normal human. When she moves four hours away from home to go to school things start to get strange. It all starts when she attends a nightclub. It turns out the owners of the nightclub are vampires and know what she is even before she does. Many things unwind in this book. It feels as if I read a series but it was only just one book. The love triangle is this story is just crazy! Even though this is a very long story, I would still recommend it to anyone who is looking for a vampire book. It has the action, the love, the heartbreak, the family and even death. I see myself getting lost in this world as I did for the Vampire Academy books. I can’t wait to read the next one!!
